Inkjet print disconnection problem solved

Recently, when a friend of the author was using EPSON Stylus Photo EX3 to print, the text in the document was broken and the image had white stripes (Figure 1). What's going on here?

In fact, the occurrence of horizontal stripes in ink jet printers is mostly caused by clogging of the print head nozzles. Problems can be solved by cleaning nozzles. For the EPSON Stylus Photo EX3 printer used by friends, there are two ways to check and clean the nozzle. One is to press the printer button, and the other is to use the driver.

First, nozzle cleaning through the printer button

Press and hold the "Clean" button for 3 seconds, the printer automatically cleans the print head, and the power light flashes. When the power indicator stops blinking, the print head cleaning operation is completed. It should be noted that if the ink-out indicator is flashing, the print head cannot be cleaned. In this case, the ink cartridge is out of ink. Please replace the corresponding ink cartridge first.

Second, nozzle cleaning through the printer driver

1. Turn on the printer and make sure A4 paper is loaded in the printer's feeder.

2. Click "Start", point to "Settings", click "Printers and Faxes", then right-click the EPSON Stylus Photo EX3 printer icon, and then click "Properties" in the shortcut menu;

3. On the General tab, click the Printing Preferences button, then click the Utility tab and click the Print Head Cleaning button (Figure 2).

If the nozzle is still broken after cleaning, you can repeat the above operation and clean the nozzle again. If continuously cleaning the print head 3 times is still ineffective, it can be placed for 24 hours so that the ink can fully wet the print head, and then do a nozzle cleaning operation to avoid wasting ink. In addition, if you do not use the printer for a long time, it is best to start it once a week, so as to avoid nozzle clogging.
