Research progress on 3D network hydrogel materials of Lanzhou Institute of Chemistry

With the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Functional Composites Group of the Environmental Materials and Ecochemistry Research and Development Center of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has made new progress in the preparation and application of three-dimensional network hydrogel materials.

In recent years, three-dimensional network structure hydrogels have received extensive attention in the treatment of environmental pollutants, but the hydrogels formed by the traditional aqueous solution polymerization method are colloidal products, which require granulation and other treatment processes, and high energy consumption for drying. From the perspective of molecular design, the research group used the active chemical reactivity of natural polymer chitosan and the characteristics of being positively charged under certain conditions to realize a one-step preparation from the polymerization process at room temperature and air atmosphere The breakthrough of granular hydrogel products, related research results were published in Chemical Engineering Journal (2012, 179 (1): 90-98) and Chemical Engineering Journal (2012, 200-202: 601-610)

Recently, the research group has developed a Ag-hydrogel catalytic material using the hydrogel three-dimensional network as a micro-nano reactor. The swellable three-dimensional network of hydrogel can absorb and accommodate more Ag nanoparticles, and the tight surface cross-linking of Al3 + can effectively prevent the leakage of Ag nanoparticles. 16552-16559).
