World's fastest packaging robot launched

On February 21, 2007, Adept Technologies, a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robots and global robot services, announced the launch of the Adept Quattro s650 robot. The robot is said to be the world's fastest light-duty packaging and handling robot, and its target markets are food, consumer products, cosmetics and medicine.

The Adept Quattro s650 robot is a carbon fiber structure using a patented parallel drive. Its packaging cycle time is twice that of traditional packaging robots, reaching up to 240 pick-and-place cycles per minute.

The Adept Quattro s650 is also the world's first robot to use a built-in controller. This design eliminates the need for an external control box, saves valuable factory floor space, and simplifies installation.

The robot uses Adept's industry-leading SmartController platform to provide fully integrated vision and conveyor tracking, which can track up to six conveyors at the same time, making Quattro an ideal solution for high-speed packaging applications. Randomly oriented products for delivery.
