First, the choice and use of screen printing ink
Screen printing inks, like other types of inks, are made by mixing and grinding pigments, resins, solvents, and additives.
1. Drying can be divided into:
Evaporative drying type - the method of making the ink into a film by solvent volatilization.
Oxidative Polymerization - A method of forming an ink by means of an oxidation reaction.
Two-fluid reaction type - The method of making the ink into a film by a two-component chemical reaction.
Ultraviolet curing type - A method of causing ink to form a film by a chemical reaction caused by ultraviolet irradiation.
Different drying inks can bring different gloss, different resistance (mechanical, chemical and weathering resistance) of the ink film after printing, as well as different drying equipments and different costs. Therefore, the user needs to choose carefully.
2. According to the link material type, the ink can be divided into many types. Different ink manufacturers choose different resins, which can be roughly divided into epoxy resin, polyurethane, polyester, vinyl, acrylic and rubber. and many more. Only the different materials of the substrate can be used to select different types of inks to avoid the bad adhesion caused by wrong ink selection. For substrates with unclear materials, it is best to use the ink after the printing test.
3. Different types of inks use the thinners provided by their manufacturers, mainly because various diluents have different solvency for different types of inks to avoid bad printing effects.
