Japan promotes plastic waste power generation

The Japanese Ministry of Environment has decided to promote plastic waste power generation. On the one hand, because plastic waste is used as the average heat of combustion to reach 8000 kcal/kg, a large amount of heat energy can be obtained and the power generation efficiency is high (but the general waste heat is only 1800 kcal/kg). In addition, plastic waste power generation is more troublesome than wind power generation. However, it can reduce the coal fuel consumed by thermal power plants and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions. According to the "Kyoto Protocol" of Japan, Japan will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6% in 1999 compared with 1999. Implementing a plastic waste power generation plan is very helpful in achieving this goal. In addition, the power generated by plastic waste is greater than that generated by wind power and bio-power, and can together with solar energy constitute the axis of new energy. To this end, Japan's Ministry of the Environment plans to establish five plastic waste power generators nationwide in 2003. By 2010, it will increase to 150. By then, plastic waste power generation will become one of Japan's energy pillars.
