First, the function and purpose of polishing
After the printing is finished, glazing adds a protective layer on the surface of the paper. The purpose is to protect the imprint from being scratched and to increase the abrasion resistance of the printed material. After the surface has been polished, the bright surface is lighted. The entire print produces gloss, and the matte light produces a protective layer of mist and fog, both of which increase the water resistance of the print and protect it from moisture and paper. Printed materials can enhance the aesthetics of prints by using bright glossy materials or matte matte materials. Bright surfaces can give prints a high degree of clarity and gloss. Fog surfaces have no bright and dazzling impression. Printed colors. "Poster" is a print media that disseminates information to the public in a large amount. The expression of glazing changes the visual appeal of the poster, increases its visual effects, attracts more attention, and protects the poster from getting wet with rain. Prevent scratches and increase the value of posters!
Second, all kinds of coating methods and characteristics
(I) Various types of coating methods
The glazing method can be divided into light and fog on the bright surface - bright surface is:
(1) Lubricating oil: The operating mode of the glossy oil is the one-time printing of the connection between the printing machine and the coating machine, and it can also be used as the second coating mode of the non-wired connection. As with printing inks, no special equipment and operating techniques are required. Its advantages are easy operation and low cost.....but disadvantages can cause air pollution, odor, and time.
(2) PVA glazing: using a coater and a high temperature calender, high-temperature baking was performed to volatilize the solvent to harden the PVA. The advantage is that the cost is lower and cheaper. In the process of drying, formaldehyde will release toxic substances such as formaldehyde, which will greatly harm the health of operators.
(3) Film lamination: The adhesive film of PP bright surface, PP matte surface, rigid PVC, PET... is coated with an adhesive, dried, and then pressed together with a printed matter to complete the lamination. The glossiness and abrasion resistance of the film are the best in all kinds of glazing, but the expensive paper that is processed by the film cannot be easily recycled and cannot be recycled. It does not meet the requirements of environmental protection!
(4) UV glazing: The technology of fast drying applies the acid-base varnish with a photosensitive substance to the glazing material. After ultraviolet ray irradiation, photopolymerization chain reaction takes place instantaneously to form a glossy and transparent surface morphology. The advantages are high gloss and good abrasion resistance, but the disadvantages are that UV polishing is toxic, there is irritating damage to the human skin, eyes and respiratory system, the equipment is expensive, and it is not easy to reconstitute pulp to make recycled paper.
(5) Waterborne coating: Water is the basic volume, styrene or acrylic is the solute, and weakly inert solvent is the surfactant. The liquid water-based glaze is in the form of an emulsion. After the coating is dried and hardened, it is a clear acrylic film. Its advantages are low price, no toxicity, no harm to the operator's health, high gloss, good abrasion resistance, quick drying effect, easy re-slurry decomposition, manufacture of recycled paper, and no environmental pollution!
There are:
Film lamination: It is used to coat adhesive films such as PP bright surface, PP matte surface, rigid PVC, PET..., etc. Fog surface effect.
(B), various types of polishing characteristics of the comparison table Polishing type characteristics and brightness bright oil brightness, poor wear resistance PVA
Bright, poor abrasion resistance UV
Good brightness, good abrasion resistance, oily PP
(Bright and Fog) Good Brightness, Good Wear Resistance, Solvent Containing Toluene UVPP
(bright and fog) good brightness, good abrasion resistance, good adhesion
(Bright and Fog) Excellent Brightness, Good Abrasion Resistance, Good Adhesion Water-based PP (PU Adhesive)
Excellent brightness, good abrasion resistance, excellent adhesion strength, especially for long fiber paper (Qiu Yiming's review of the influence of coating types on print quality and environmental quality evaluation 1997.9)
